The Firm

The award-winning Wid Chapman Architects approaches each project by synthesizing the client's point-of-view along with contextual conditions into the design process. For renovation projects, the firm seeks to instill an architectural integrity and unity to the spaces and functions by holistically looking at the structural components along with the interior design elements.

The firm specializes in architecture and design for hospitality and residential developments along with exhibition and commercial ventures. Project locations include: New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Florida, Colorado, California, Dominican Republic, Korea and Malaysia.

Their work has been featured in Interior Design, International Design (I.D.), Contract Magazine, Crain's New York Business, Wall Street Journal, Interiors India, Figaro Japan, New York Magazine, Shotenkenchiku and New York's WABC TV. Their design work for three Elixir juice bars in New York City won an I.D. Magazine award in 2000.

WCA is headed by Wid Chapman, AIA, who received his architectural training at Rhode Island School of Design. Wid is currently a Senior Faculty member at the Parsons School of Design in New York and was a Department Chair of Interior Design. Wid has guest lectured within the U.S. and internationally in Paris, Singapore, Malaysia, Brazil, India and the Dominican Republic.
